28 January, 2020

The data confirm that the Portuguese Way continues to grow considerably and also the important and recent growth of the Portuguese Way of the Coast and the English Way. As for the low number of pilgrims on the Fisterra-Muxía Way, don’t forget that the figures are collected from Compostelas! Therefore most of those who walked and took the “Fisterrana” don’t appear!

The most frequented routes of the Camino de Santiago in 2019 were:

1 / The French Way 189.937 (54,65%)

2 / The Portuguese Way 72.357 (20,82%)

3 / The Portuguese Way of the Coast 22.292 (6,41%)

4 / The Northern Way 19.019 (5,47 %)

5 / The English Way 19.019 (5,47 %)

6 / The Primitive Way 15.715 (4,52%)
