The Cathedral of Santiago is open: What does it offer at the moment to the pilgrim or visitor?
8 January, 2021

Since January 1st, the cathedral is open and it can be visited every day, from 9:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. The visit is free and the Holy Door is open.

Mass is celebrated again at 12: oo and at 7:30 p.m., although for the moment, given the low number of pilgrims, the botafumeiro is only being used on Sundays.

At the moment, visits to the museum and the Pórtico de la Gloria are not possible, but it is very likely that they will be possible soon.

The Pilgrim’s Office, dependent on the cathedral, is still open every day on Rúa das Carretas between 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.
