Holy Year 2021: Jorge Martínez-Cava. Association of Friends of the Ways of Santiago from Madrid

Perhaps, one of the key aspects that this year has brought us to the Santiago world is to highlight the things that really matter to us.

In a time of a crisis, unprecedented in the last hundred years of the Camino de Santiago, it is more necessary than ever for us to look back at our origins to chart the new course to which 2021 and beyond will be forced on us.

Nothing can be the same as before, because it is essential that we continue to advance in consolidating any route, be it traditional or not, by which a pilgrim sets out for Compostela.

Because it is necessary for this pilgrim to meet the fraternal and solidary welcome that we defend and offer.

Because it is necessary that the values that have shaped the Camino de Santiago cultural, spiritual, artistic, all inclusive and without borders, are maintained so that once again the Camino de Santiago is the Camino de Europa, the Camino that unites us.

In 2021 we are holding the XII International Congress of Jacobean Associations in Madrid. We are expecting you and your voices, today more than ever.
